After widespread reductions in schedules for April and May, Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced further cuts for June.
The trimming of schedules is a bid by the airline to manage capacity and secure profitability, following a decline in travel demand due to the Great East Japan Earthquake in March.
The airline will halve the number of scheduled flights from Tokyo Narita to Beijing and Soul for the whole month of June, to seven weekly flights.
JAL will also cut flights from Tokyo Haneda to Seoul by a third, to 14 weekly flights.
Other routes being reduced include tokyo Narita to Busan, Osaka and Taipei, among others.
In a statement the airline said: “JAL apologises for any inconvenience caused and seeks the kind understanding of customers affected by the changes.”
