Icelandair yesterday announced it will offer four weekly direct flights from Keflavik airport (KEF) to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) from May 30 2018.
The new route opens additional connection options for customers travelling to the US, complementing the existing 20 destinations served by Icelandair via Reykjavik. Flights will be serviced by a Boeing 757-200, part of the airline’s updated fleet that now features more legroom, in-flight entertainment and gate-to-gate wifi.
Flight F1872 departs DFW at 5pm local time and arrives at KEF at 6am (GMT) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight F1873 departs KEF at 5.15pm and arrives at DFW at 8.40pm local time on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
DFW’s location makes it a convenient choice for connections from Europe and Asia to points across North America, Central and South America. Travellers making journeys to the airport benefit from its highly efficient customs processing, as well as shopping, dining and amenities.
Birkir Holm Gudnason, Icelandair CEO, said: “As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, we are pleased to offer the largest route network in Icelandair’s history. Our new service to Dallas Fort Worth will provide a refreshing alternative for UK passengers travelling to Texas with flights via Iceland. This new route will also open opportunities for Texan travellers who want to explore the seven UK gateways we serve. We look forward to welcoming Dallas Fort Worth aboard our network.”
