Iberia will commence daily flights between Madrid and Newark Liberty International Airport from 29 March 2026.
The new intercontinental route will be operated with Airbus A321XLR aircraft configured with business and economy cabins.
The Spanish carrier also operates a twice daily service between Madrid and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. With the additional daily service to Newark, Iberia next summer will offer more than 350,000 seats between Madrid and New York – marking a 40 per cent increase on 2025 – following “sustained” traffic growth between Spain and the US.
The new service is part of the carrier's ‘Flight Plan 2030’ strategy, which includes a €6 billion investment in fleet renewal and expansion, digitalisation of services and increased connectivity between Europe and the Americas.
As part of this plan, the carrier will inaugurate five new routes in the coming months. After commencing services to Orlando last month, Iberia will also launch services to Recife (from 13 December) and Fortaleza (from 19 January), each with three weekly flights. For the summer season, the airline will begin three-times-weekly flights to Monterrey from 2 June and from 13 June will fly five times weekly to Toronto.
