Spanish carrier Iberia is planning to cut up to 955 jobs as it looks to further reduce its workforce.
Iberia, which is owned by British Airways’ parent company IAG, outlined its latest job cuts to unions on Thursday (August 17), according to Reuters.
The airline is looking to make the cuts through voluntary redundancies and early retirements.
Iberia has already reduced staff numbers by around 4,500 over the last few years – the airline employs around 16,000 people.
In a separate move, Iberia is to introduce premium economy seating on flights between Madrid and Boston from next week.
The new seat was launched on Iberia’s services to Bogota, Chicago and New York in May, followed by routes to Mexico City and Miami.
