Germany has today added a number of countries to its list of Covid risk areas which means that arrivals who have spent time in them within the ten days prior to entry, are subject to a mandatory Covid-19 test and may be subject to quarantine under the specific rules issued by individual states.
From Sunday 22 November at midnight, those entering Germany from Botswana, Latvia and Lithuania are required to take a test.
The Uusimaa region of Finland, including the capital Helsinki, as well as the central region of Greece, are also added to the list of risk areas.
The country of Iceland is no longer considered as a risk area, Germany’s Robert Koch Institut said.
Classification as a risk area is the result of a joint analysis and decision-making process by the Federal Ministry of Health, the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
