Regional carrier Flybe has revealed a new livery being rolled out across its Bombardier Q400 and Embraer 175 aircraft.
The airline says around 10 aircraft will be repainted with the new livery every year, with completion of the entire fleet due by 2025.
Coordinated in line with the carrier’s existing fleet re-painting and planned maintenance programmes, the new white and purple livery can be delivered “at no extra cost to the business”, according to Flybe.
The new design makes a change from Flybe’s well-known all-over purple and the airline claims the ‘streamlined’ livery brings its aircraft in line with its new ‘Close to You’ tagline.
The first repainted aircraft was added back to the fleet on 4 September.
Four new Embraer 175 jets will be delivered in July 2019 already painted with the new livery.
Christine Ourmieres-Widener, CEO of Flybe, said: “Today marks a memorable new chapter in our airline’s history. To date, almost every part of our business has been touched by our ‘Close to You’ brand refresh and so refreshing our aircraft livery plays a significant part of strengthening that positioning, as well as being an integral part of the ongoing programme to reinvigorate our fleet. The best part is that, by careful planning, we will achieve this at no additional cost to the business.”
Flybe reported an adjusted loss of £19.2 million in the year to 31 March and undertook a review of its route network, withdrawing from destinations and reducing capacity on some of its services in an effort to reduce costs.
