Helsinki-based Finnair has launched its 10th Asian destination.
The new daily Helsinki-Singapore route marks a continuation of Finnair’s strategy of Asian expansion, according to the airline’s CEO Mika Vehviläinen.
Finnair aims to offer the fastest connection between Northern Europe and Singapore, he said.
"The Singapore route will strongly support our core strategy as well as serving our main target group of customers travelling between Asia and Europe on business,” said Vehviläinen.
Operated using an Airbus A340, flight AY081 leaves Helsinki at 11.40pm, arriving into Singapore at 4.10pm the following day.
From Singapore, flight AY082 leaves at 11.30pm and arrives into Helsinki at 6.34am the following day.
Passengers from Heathrow and Manchester will be able to connect onto the Singapore flight via Finnair’s Helsinki hub.
