Taiwan-based airline Eva Air is to start two new European routes from Taipei to Milan and Munich starting in autumn 2022.
Eva Air will launch two weekly flights to Milan on 25 October, followed by the Munich route on 3 November, which will operate four times per week. The destinations will be served by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The two new destinations are in addition to Eva Air’s existing European routes to London, Amsterdam, Paris and Vienna – it is also the airline’s first route expansion in Europe for 25 years. Flights from Paris and Vienna operate non-stop to Taipei, while the London and Amsterdam services stop in Bangkok.
Eva Air had originally intended to launch the Taipei-Milan route in February 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic struck and caused its postponement.
The airline has already announced plans to increase frequencies on its restored London Heathrow-Bangkok-Taipei service due to “high demand”. Flights on the route will step up from three flights per week to five weekly services from the start of August.
