France-based pilots working for budget airline Volotea are set to go on strike for three days from 4-6 September in a dispute over pay.
Three French unions – SNPL, UNAC and SPL – are all calling for Volotea pilots in France to take industrial action due to what they call “detrimental working and pay conditions” for their members.
Spanish carrier Volotea has more than 20 operating bases in Europe, including 11 airports in France: Bordeaux, Brest, Lille, Limoges, Lourdes, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Rodez, Strasbourg and Toulouse.
In a statement to passengers, Volotea warned that its flights to and from France could be impacted during the three-day strike.
“Normal daily operation under these circumstances can be affected and some flights may experience delays,” added the airline in the update. “In any case, please arrive at the airport for your scheduled departure time well in advance as check-in and luggage drop times will not be extended and access points may be affected by longer lines than usual.”
