Budget carrier Wizz Air is opening two new bases in Spain at Madrid and Valencia airports from early November.
The airline will open its base at Valencia on 2 November when it will launch seven new routes. Five of these additions will be to domestic Spanish destinations: Asturias, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Santander and Santiago de Compostela. Wizz will also add services to Naples in Italy and Brasov in Romania.
Wizz’s new Madrid base from 3 November will allow the launch of four new routes to Asturias, Palma de Mallorca and Santiago de Compostela in Spain, as well as Pisa in Italy.
The airline also plans to increase frequencies on existing routes from Madrid to Milan Malpensa, Rome Fiumicino and London Luton airports.
Wizz Air said the opening of the two Spanish bases represented one of its “most significant investments” in the market, with the promise of more expansion to come.
