From 1 August, all travellers flying Etihad Airways from
around the world to Abu Dhabi, including those transferring through the airport
onto another flight, will be required to show a negative Covid-19 PCR test from
a list of approved testing facilities along with their Identity and Citizenship
(ICA) approval before flying.
The airline said the test must be carried out within 96
hours of arrival into Abu Dhabi, with a negative result certificate required
for approval to board. Only children under the age of 12 and those with mild to
severe disabilities will be exempt from the requirement. Passengers may be subject to a further PCR test on arrival if Abu Dhabi is their final destination.
Etihad has released a website with detailed information on
country-specific PCR testing requirements, lists of applicable medical testing
facilities and entry regulations.
Departing travellers making journeys to the European Union
and the UK, or to any country where it is required by authorities, will also have
to present a negative PCR test result within 96 hours of departure. To
facilitate this process, Etihad is partnering with Mediclinic Middle East to
offer passengers departing from Abu Dhabi the option of either an at-home test
or at a Mediclinic facility in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, or Dubai for a fee prior to
their travel.
