Etihad Airways will start a new service to Egypt's second largest city, Alexandria, in July.
James Hogan, Etihad Airways' CEO, said Alexandria is an "important strategic" destination for the airline.
The route "will serve the Egyptian expatriate population living in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE, as well as growing numbers of business and leisure travellers looking to fly to the city," said Hogan.
The four times weekly service from Abu Dhabi to El Nouzha airport will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
An A320 will be used on the route, configured to carry 136 passengers.
It is Etihad's second destination in Egypt, after Cairo, which started in 2004 and is now served twice daily.
