Emirates has revealed a new Business class cabin on its B777-200LR aircraft, with wider seats in a 2-2-2 configuration.
The airline has invested more than US$150 million to refurbish its ten 777-200LRs, which now feature 38 Business class seats and 264 in Economy. While the Business class design is the same as Emirates’ latest lie-flat seats, they are now two inches wider, with a pitch of 72 inches.
Business class seats move into fully-flat beds and feature touch screen controls for the seat and IFE, several lighting options, privacy panels between seats, a shoe stowage area, footrest and a personal mini-bar.
Overhead bins in the centre of the cabin have also been removed to provide more space, while a mini-lounge area offers snacks such as crisps, sandwiches and fruit, as well as beverages for passengers to help themselves.
The refurbished aircraft will go into service on 6 March to Fort Lauderdale. The full fleet of ten will be retrofitted with the new configuration over the course of the year. Emirates says it has plans to introduce the aircraft on several routes, including its newly launched destination, Santiago, Chile.
