British Midland International (Bmi) and Croatia Airlines have started codesharing on services between the UK and Croatia.
The agreement between the fellow Star Alliance members has seen Bmi places its two letter code (BD) on flights operated by the Croatian carrier from Heathrow and Gatwick to the capital Zagreb.
Meanwhile, Croatia Airlines has added its OU code to some of Bmi’s UK routes served from London, including Aberdeen, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester.
Joerg Hennemann, Bmi’s chief commercial officer, said: "This reciprocal codeshare agreement brings major benefits for bmi customers wanting to fly to Croatia, as well as Croatian Airlines customers using bmi’s domestic services out of London Heathrow."
Bojan Aljinovic, director of network and revenue management at Croatia Airlines said the tie-up will expand on other routes, “expanding Croatia Airlines global connectivity within Star Alliance”.
