Emirates has started a new complimentary chauffeur service for First and Business class customers arriving or departing from Mumbai”s Chatrapathi Shivaji Airport.
Passengers will be driven to and from any Mumbai home or business address within 50km (30mi) of the airport.
The airline will use a fleet of Mercedes-Benz C Class vehicles for the service.
”With India”s economy taking giant strides, the business environment is thriving with greater than ever trade and foreign investment,” said Emirates senior vice president commercial operations Salem Obaidalla. ”Added to this is an increasingly affluent Indian middle class seeking two to three international holidays per year.
”Given this environment, Emirates is witnessing escalating demand for travel to and from Mumbai ” India”s business and leisure hub.”
The cars are equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) Trackers to provide real time information on their location.
For passengers who want to travel beyond the 50km radius of the airport, an additional charge of Rs51 ($1) per kilometre will be charged and payment can be made directly to the chauffeur via credit card.
