Singapore Airlines is adding a new operation at Changi Airport”s Terminal 3 from next January.
Having just taken delivery of its first Airbus A380, the airline is clearly eyeing expansion as it looks to capitalise on increased passenger throughput at its Asian gateway.
Passengers will continue to use Changi”s existing Terminal 2, but from 9 January, 2008, new activity will move into Terminal 3.
”Singapore Airlines” extended operations at the Changi hub will support our existing network, facilitating future growth and expansion,” said executive senior vice president operations & services, Bey Soo Khiang.”
UK-bound passengers will depart from Terminal 3, while customers needing to connect to Changi”s other two Terminals, can use the Skytrain transit system.
Departing flights from Terminal 2 will be as follows: Bangladesh; Brunei; Egypt; India; Indonesia; Malaysia; Maldives; Pakistan; Philippines; Russia; Saudi Arabia; South Africa; Sri Lanka; Thailand; Turkey; United Arab Emirates; Vietnam and Silkair (all flights).
From Terminal 3: Australia; Canada; China; Denmark; France; Germany; Greece; Hong Kong; Italy; Japan (Flights SQ 632 for Bangkok-Tokyo and SQ 626 for Bangkok-Osaka will leave from Terminal 2); Korea; New Zealand; Holland; Spain; Switzerland; Taiwan; UK and the US.
For departing passengers, the check-in Terminal will be printed on Singapore Airlines” e-tickets and boarding passes ” including those printed at home prior to airport arrival.
