Cayman Airways has opened a UK office to boost its presence as well as in Europe and aims to work with the travel trade, as well as raising its consumer profile.
The regional Caribbean carrier and state airline of the Cayman Islands, will be managed by Lynne Morris, who becomes regional manager, Europe
”Lynne Morris” experience and expertise in Caribbean tourism and aviation for these markets will enable us to fast-track our development for Cayman Airways in the UK and Europe,” said Cayman Airways vice president commercial, John Wrightington.
Morris looked after both Caribbean Star and Caribbean Sun Airlines” business in the UK and Europe for three years prior to the merger with LIAT and now also acts as LIAT”s UK and European representative. Morris is immediate past chair of the Caribbean Tourist Organisation (CTO), UK Chapter.
Cayman Airways currently has daily services from Grand Cayman to Miami for inbound UK and European carriers. It has formed a close relationship with Virgin Atlantic and offers connections at both Miami and Havana.
The Caribbean airline launched services to JFK New York last June and currently operates three non-stop two-class Boeing 737 flights per week. Flight time is less than four hours.
The airline also serves Chicago, Orlando and Tampa in the US, plus Kingston and Montego Bay in Jamaica using Boeing 737s on all flights. Local routes are flown by Twin Otter aircraft from its base in Grand Cayman.
