Easyjet has launched its longest route to date, with the start of flights to the Jordanian Capital of Amman.
The no-frills carriers claims to be the first airline to offer a low-cost service between the UK and the Middle East.
Easyjet operates the flight three times weekly from Gatwick’s North Terminal.
Carolyn McCall, Easyjet’s CEO, said: “This new route between London and Amman is a great example of us making it easy and affordable for people to visit great destinations.
“With easyJet having one of the best European networks, we hope to be able to connect Amman with other destinations from across our network in the future.”
The move also benefits London Gatwick by creating stronger links with the Middle East.
