Flights from the UK to Boston are operating normally despite the bombing of the city’s marathon which killed three people yesterday (April 15).
The FAA in the US initially ordered a temporary ground stop on all flights into Boston’s Logan airport after two bombs went off in central Boston at around 14.50 local time. But this ground stop was later lifted by the authority.
“Flights are departing and arriving from Logan, please check with your airline for delays or flight changes,” said Logan airport on Twitter.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has changed its advice to UK citizens visiting Boston following the attacks.
“You should exercise vigilance and caution, monitoring local media and following the advice of local authorities,” said the FCO. “If in the affected area you should let family and friends know you are safe.
“There may be some disruption to travel - you should contact your travel operator for the latest information.”
British foreign secretary William Hague said: "My thoughts are with everyone affected by it and all those waiting for news".
