Bmi launches a new route from East Midlands Airport to Cologne Bonn from 11 February.
The direct six-times weekly service will provide the quickest link between the Midlands and Germany, and fills the gap left by easyJet”s withdrawal from the route.
”We expect the route to be popular with both business and leisure travellers, who will be able to fly with bmi regional and be assured of punctual services on comfortable jet aircraft,” said bmi commercial director, Peter Kenworthy.
One of the oldest cities in Germany, Cologne is renowned as a major cultural and media centre, and hosts large trade fairs.
Passengers will be able to travel onwards to other cities including Hamburg on Lufthansa flights, bmi regional”s Star Alliance partner.
Chairman of Cologne Bonn Airport, Michael Garvens said: ”We warmly welcome bmi regional. The route to East Midlands is an important addition to our timetable, especially for business travellers.”
