Finnish airline, Blue 1, is to introduce an economy extra cabin on its MD-90 aircraft from 29 October.
The SAS subsidiary dropped its business class service on the London Stansted-Helsinki route last year, but has introduced a more flexible ticket in response to demand.
”The introduction of economy extra to Blue 1”s London to Helsinki service, is a clear indication of the airline”s dedication to the business traveller,” said SAS general manager, UK & Ireland, Lars Ove-Filipson.
Passengers will be able to use flexible tickets, dedicated check-in areas, a separate cabin and have complementary food and drink.
Tickets can be combined as economy extra outbound for example and economy only on the return journey, while customers can also change tickets or rebook on another SAS service.
Members of SAS” frequent flyer programme, EuroBonus, will be eligible for 50% more points per one way flight.
In addition to Blue 1”s UK-Finland services, SAS also offers five daily rotations from London to Helsinki and daily flights to Western Finland, including Turku and Tampere, via Stockholm or Copenhagen.
