British Airways (BA) will stop flying between London Gatwick and Sharm El Sheikh from the start of May.
The carrier will suspend its three-times weekly service from May 2, leaving just Easyjet serving the coastal city from both Gatwick and Luton.
A BA spokesman said "current market conditions and current levels of expected demand for the summer” are to blame.
"A Boeing 777 with 280 seats is not the right aircraft for Sharm-El-Sheikh,"he added.
“Unfortunately we do not have a feasible shorthaul solution for this route for the summer and have taken the decision to suspend our flights.”
