British Airways (BA) has relaunched its mobile application for smartphone users.
The airline first launched an app for iphone users in 2008, which more than half a million users have downloaded, but this updated version means Blackberry and Google Android users can download it.
The new app displays details and updates on flights, although users will need to be members of Executive Club, BA's frequent flyer scheme to access the personalised information.
It will also have a dedicated travel news section, answers to frequently asked questions, and a link to the ba.com mobile website.
Iphone users, however, have the added bonus of being able to use the app to display mobile boarding passes, as well as access a Twitter news feed on BA.
Initially only customers flying between London and Edinburgh will be able to use the mobile boarding pass, but BA has said it plans to roll out the boarding pass service across its other domestic routes, and eventually international routes.
Chris Davies, head of digital marketing, said: "Mobility and convenience is key for our customers, so that no matter where they are, they can turn to their mobile phones to find the very latest information about flights, check in times and even access boarding passes allowing them to stay one step ahead.
"The Mobile Boarding Pass feature for Executive Club iPhone users will be especially welcome for those customers unable to print off their own boarding cards when returning from overseas.
"It's all about improving the customer experience. We're committed to putting our customers in charge, making the British Airways' travel experience even easier."
