British Airways (BA) will increase its fuel surcharge on all tickets booked from this Thursday (15 November)
The airline says the increases reflect new record oil prices and takes into account rising fuel costs.
BA is expecting the cost of fuel to increase by ”136m ($281.8 m) in the second half of the current financial year, with the total fuel bill for the year anticipated to exceed $4.14bn for the first time.
”The cost of oil has reached record levels, rising by more than $20 per barrel since we last increased our fuel surcharge in June 2007,” said BA commercial director, Robert Boyle.
BA will also make similar changes to its fuel surcharge in markets outside the UK
