Hyatt Hotels has announced plans to open an Andaz hotel in Shanghai this summer.
Andaz Shanghai will be the hotel group’s first Asian property under the boutique brand.
Located in Xintiandi, downtown Shanghai, the 24-storey hotel will have 307 bedrooms.
The hotel will also feature two restaurants, a bar and a lounge, plus a spa and pool. For meetings and events, there will be 1300 sqm of space.
Steve Haggerty, global head of real estate and development for Hyatt Hotels, said Shanghai has become increasingly influential as a financial and commercial centre.
“[It] is a critically important city for international and in-country travellers and we are excited to introduce the Andaz brand there,” he said.
A further six Andaz hotels are under development worldwide, including in the Netherlands, India and Costa Rica.
