Eurostar will run very restricted services this week after the fire which damaged the Channel Tunnel last week, as previously reported on ABTN.
The train operator said there would be 12 services to Paris and six to Brussels with ”several hours between some trains.”
Normally there are 21 and 10 services a day respectively to the two cities.
Eurostar advised customers to travel only if their journey was ”absolutely essential.”
Two airlines, BA and bmi, put on extra capacity to help cope with the disruption.
The fire broke out last Thursday afternoon on a freight train about seven miles into the Tunnel from Calais.
Eurostar stopped all trains on Friday but resumed severely reduced services over the weekend.
Eurostar advised travellers with essential journeys to arrive at their station and check-in as normal, in order to be put on the first available train.
Passengers who decide not to travel will get a refund or be able to exchange their tickets for travel at a later date, the train company said.
BA said it had increased capacity on flights to Brussels and Paris over the weekend and used larger planes for the first two services to Paris this morning (September 15).
It said it would look at the demand on a day-to-day basis.
Bmi said it was also increasing the size of the planes used on its services to Brussels. The airline does not fly to Paris.
Air France KLM said it had no plans to increase flights or add capacity on its routes to Paris.
