The UK's largest airline has announced a tie up with Click Travel, in a move which reinforces its bid to widen its business travel audience.
easyJet has linked up with the award winning TMC to bring instant and live access to customers booking air travel. The benefit of this addition is significant for Click Travel's customers, providing greater choice when managing business travel costs. The deal is another demonstration of Click's ability to add big name, mainstream suppliers to its rapidly expanding portfolio.
Commenting on the tie-up with easyJet, Click Travel's Simon McLean said: "We're really proud to be working with such a forward thinking low cost carrier. Our clients now have reliable access to easyJet's full content and great fares through our award winning technology.
"Many travel management companies continue to support unreliable screen scraping technology for low-cost-carrier content. At Click we continue to drive our strategy of connecting directly to suppliers using reliable and properly licensed XML technology."
easyJet has spoken out in the past against travel agency and aggregator sites using prohibited screen scraping technology to add content to their sites. This tie up with Click Travel will give Click's users licensed access to all easyJet flights and fares, providing a safe and secure platform to fulfill their air travel procurement.
easyJet's distribution development manager, Jerry Dunn said: "easyJet continues to make it easier for TMCs and corporates to book our low fares through structured interfaces with GDSs, SBTs and other booking systems used to manage business travel. Click Travel developed against our API in record time and is further evidence of the move away from unlicensed screen scraping systems."
Whilst easyJet already works with a variety of TMCs, this partnership sees Click Travel become the first TMC to offer a direct XML connection.
As well as expanding its air offering, the tie-up to easyJet follows hot on the heels of Click's growing budget hotel inventory, which has most recently seen the addition of new Premier Inn capabilities.
