Regional carrier Air Southwest is to drops its services to London City from Plymouth and Newquay, just over a year after they were launched.
The airline will stop flying to the central London airport on May 21, and any customers due to travel on either service after this date will be offered the option of rebooking onto the carrier's existing four-times daily flights from both destinations to London Gatwick, or receiving a full refund.
Air Southwest launched flights to London City in April last year, but says it is to "refocus on its successful London Gatwick service".
Said managing director Peter Davies:"Our London City route, which we launched a year ago, offers a superb product but has not attracted the volumes of customers necessary for us to continue operating it.
"That, compounded by the bad weather at the start of the year and the recent volcanic ash crisis which was costly for all airlines, has led to today's decision."
Aside from its London Gatwick services, Air Southwest continues to fly from Plymouth and Newquay to destinations including Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Bristol, Dublin, Cork, Newcastle and Glasgow.
