Air France says services are expected to return to normal today (30 October) after strike action threw Paris airports into chaos.
The cabin crew walkout at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports disrupted thousands of passengers” journeys, with pictures showing disgruntled travellers thronging the French capital”s premier gateways.
Air France says it plans to operate all long-haul flights from Paris today, as well as 90% of its short and medium haul services, although French observers have cautioned that the lag effect of strike action could take days to put right.
A statement from the carrier noted: ”Air France hopes that negotiations will resume and wishes to express once again its apologies to customers for all the inconvenience caused since last Thursday.”
Air France ran 64% of its normal schedule on Sunday, with this figure rising to 78% yesterday. The airline provided 4,000 rooms for its Charles de Gaulle passengers and 300 for those using Orly for two nights during the walk-out.
