Air France and KLM each have expanded their New Distribution Capability offers to include interline flights with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM announced.
While Delta has not yet launched its own NDC offers, Delta-marketed flights now can be booked in combination with Air France and KLM transatlantic flights through the latter carriers' NDC channels "to destinations across North America, South America and the Caribbean served by Delta," according to Air France-KLM.
When asked for clarification, Air France-KLM indicated that NDC-booked segments cannot be combined with EDIFACT-booked segments to issue a single ticket via the company's NDC channels.
However, transatlantic Air France-KLM-marketed segments, regardless of the operating carrier, now can be booked along with Delta-marketed flights for journeys within the Americas and the Caribbean, when purchased through Air France-KLM.
"These offers will be issued through NDC on a single ticket," according to Air France-KLM. This capability “complements” existing codeshare capabilities in Air France-KLM's NDC channels where Delta flight numbers are offered in the Americas and the Caribbean and Air France or KLM flight numbers are not available.
Availability depends on the aggregator, with the rollout to progress "step by step," the company said. Air France and KLM also are working to extend interline capabilities via NDC to additional airline partners, according to the company.
