Kazakhstan carrier Air Astana has announced it will increase the frequency of service from both Almaty and Astana to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, from 1 April.
The Almaty service will grow from seven flights per week to ten, including three new evening slots on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Meanwhile, flights between Astana and Tashkent will be increased from four to six per week, with two new services on Mondays and Thursdays.
All flights to Tashkent are operated by Airbus A320 and Embraer 190 aircraft, with a flight time of one hour and 35 minutes from Almaty, and two hours from Astana.
Flights to Tashkent from Almaty began in December 2010 and from Astana in May 2012. The combined routes have seen Air Astana carry more than half a million passengers and more than 700 tonnes of cargo.
