Aer Lingus will restart its daily direct service from Dublin to Hartford, Connecticut on 26 March next year, the carrier announced on Thursday (6 October). The flight will be the only direct service from Europe to Hartford’s Bradley International Airport, according to the airline.
This follows the recent announcement of flights to Cleveland, Ohio as the airline continues to rebuild and grow its transatlantic network.
The route will be serviced by Airbus A321neo aircraft, which include both business and economy cabins. Fares start from £229 each way as part of a return journey.
Travellers will also benefit from US Immigration Pre-clearance in Dublin, which allows them to arrive into the US like a domestic passenger, avoiding lengthy immigration queues.
Aer Lingus CEO Lynne Embleton said the airline is “forging ahead” with its North American expansion plans, growing the number of transatlantic routes from its Dublin hub.
Meanwhile, Connecticut Airport Authority executive director Kevin A. Dillon said the resumption of the route has been a “major priority in our recovery strategy”.
“We look forward to rebuilding the service, continuing the strong momentum it had prior to the onset of the pandemic,” he said.
