Irish carrier Aer Lingus is ramping up its transatlantic operations with plans to launch a new route to Cleveland, Ohio, as part of its summer 2023 schedule.
The new Dublin-Cleveland service will take off on 19 May 2023, operating four times a week with connections from nine UK airports.
This will be the carrier’s fifteenth transatlantic route between Ireland and North America, following the resumption of flights to Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston and New York, and will be the only direct European service to Cleveland.
The route will be served by an Airbus A321neo LR, which comprises both business and economy class cabins, and is the carrier’s most sustainable long-haul aircraft.
Fares start from £249 each way as part of a return journey.
Travellers will also benefit from US Immigration Pre-clearance in Dublin, which allows them to arrive into the US like a domestic passenger, avoiding lengthy immigration queues.
Aer Lingus chief strategy and planning officer Reid Moody said ongoing expansion of the carrier’s transatlantic network is ‘critical’ to its long-term growth strategy.
“The commencement of a new route, accompanied with further network connectivity, is an exciting milestone for the airline during a critical time of recovery for our business,” he said.
“The new service to Cleveland not only provides a direct connection to Ireland but connections to over 20 popular European destinations via our Dublin Hub.”
