Aer Lingus plans to rebuild its network to a total of 71 routes, including 16 transatlantic routes, for its summer 2022 schedule, the carrier announced.
The airline will restart some US routes this month with the end of the ban on European travellers visiting the country, with direct services from Dublin to New York Newark starting 14 November and to Orlando on 27 November.
In its summer 2022 schedule, Aer Lingus will fly to nine additional destinations from Dublin: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Washington, D.C. It also will fly to JFK and Orlando from Manchester and to Boston and JFK from Shannon, Ireland.
Aer Lingus' service to Europe will "ramp up" between now and next summer. At the time of writing, the carrier has announced 44 routes to Europe for the summer but plans to add more in the coming weeks.
A recent customer survey indicated that 65 per cent of adults in Ireland plan to travel internationally in 2022, including for business, according to Aer Lingus.
