Aer Lingus and JetBlue Airways have launched a ”strategic partnership” to come into effect from 3 April this year.
The deal will allow Irish and American passengers to book a single fare reservation between Ireland and more than 40 continental US destinations, connecting through JetBlue”s home airport of New York JFK.
Customers can access the fares using the Aer Lingus website ” www.aerlingus.com ” from 3 April. Those booking through www.jetblue.com will be transferred to the Aer Lingus site to complete their booking.
On arrival at JFK and following customs clearance, Aer Lingus passengers connecting to a domestic JetBlue flight, can check-in and drop their bags at Aer Lingus” transfer desk in the arrivals lobby at Terminal 4.
Once complete, passengers can travel via the AirTrain to JetBlue”s Terminal 6 for domestic connections. Customers travelling to Ireland from the US, can check-in their bags at their JetBlue departure point and retrieve them in Dublin or Shannon.
”The partnership will expose millions of US passengers to the Aer Lingus website and brand, while further consolidating aerlingus.com as the premier way to book flights from Ireland to North America,” said Aer Lingus CEO, Dermot Mannion.
JetBlue operates a fleet of Airbus A320s and Embraer 190 aircraft on its domestic network, offering the carrier”s signature in-flight entertainment of 36 free DirectTV channels.
