Aer Lingus has announced the cancellation of another 80 flights later this week due to the ongoing industrial action by pilots’ union IALPA.
The airline’s latest round of cancellations will take place from Thursday (11 July) to Sunday (14 July). They come on top of 76 previously announced cancellations of flights between Monday (8 July) and Wednesday (10 July).
Members of IALPA are currently “working to rule” at Aer Lingus as part of an ongoing pay dispute, which is causing severe disruption to the IAG-owned carrier’s services this summer.
“Implementing these cancellations is to enable us to protect as many services as possible for as many of our customers as possible,” said Aer Lingus in its latest update to customers.
“Aer Lingus fully understands the anxiety being experienced by customers given the uncertainty caused by IALPA’s industrial action and is giving impacted customers as many options as possible.”
Passengers affected by the cancellations this week will be allowed to change their flights for free, as well as being given the option to claim a refund or voucher.
