Aer Arann has launched a new VIP programme today (29 January) on its Dublin-Cork route known as Silver Club, although qualification will be by invitation only.
Silver Club members will be able to access lounges in Dublin and Cork airports and what it describes as ”recognition at check-in to ensure Silver Club members have the best seats on the aircraft.”
Other benefits include zero change fees, extra checked-in baggage allowance to 25kg, a designated Aer Arann Silver Club telephone number and a booking section on aerarann.com, where Silver Club members will have the ability to book, track, report on and change flights.
”Aer Arann has launched the Silver Club as recognition of the loyalty of our customers,” said Aer Arann head of sales and marketing, Colin Lewis. ”Silver Club is very simple for members to operate: there are no tiers, no points to count and no complexity. We believe Silver Club will make our customers” lives easier, reducing the hassle of travel, and enhancing the door to door experience”.
A spokesman told ABTN: ”Aer Arann already has a list of around 300 people who fly the Dublin-Cork route. The airline will invite everybody by post personally and they will receive a membership card.”
Aer Arann operates more than 600 weekly flights across 40 routes from London and UK regions to Cork, Galway, Kerry, Sligo, Donegal and Waterford, as well as Dublin and Nantes in Northern France.
The carrier will also take delivery next year of ten new ATR 72-500 aircraft in a $180m (”90m) deal.
