Marriott’s W Hotels brand is set to make a return to Sydney, Australia with the 2020 opening of a new property in the city’s Darling Harbour.
The hotel will be part of one of Sydney’s development projects called ‘The Ribbon’, which is being designed by award-winning architect Hassel.
It will feature 593 guestrooms, suites and serviced apartments. Public spaces will include the Wet Deck pool decking area, a restaurant serving local cuisine and two bars including the W brand’s signature Living Room. There will also be a spa and fully equipped gym.
Meetings planners will be offered 925 sqm of event space, including a grand ballroom.
W Hotels opened its first Australian property for years in Brisbane earlier this year. The Sydney hotel will open alongside a third property in Melbourne in 2020.
The brand had a hotel in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo Wharf, but it was rebranded in 2007.
