Novotel has opened the new Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun, the first of the brand’s properties in the South Korean capital’s shopping district.
Featuring 331 rooms and 192 residences, the hotel is located near the historic site of Heunginjimun, one of the ‘Eight Gates of Seoul’. The nearby Dongdaemun History and Culture Park station provides access to lines 2, 4 and 5 of the Seoul underground.
The property offers a selection of digital tools, including a mobile concierge and a smart phone for guests to use during their stay, which is pre-loaded with hotel information, maps, call and message functions even away from the hotel. Guests can scan QR codes assigned to their room for remote access to room controls and amenity service requests with the Istay app.
Further enhancements include a smart kiosk that provides hotel information including facilities, food and beverage and room promotions, as well as a media wall that showcases a sketch of the Dongdaemun district. There is also an electric car recharging station on site.
One-bedroom suites offer high-speed wifi and a 55-inch full HD TV. These suites, along with executive and deluxe rooms, feature the GIGA Genie voice and touch system to allow guests to control the room temperature and gain access to amenity services and music streaming.
Dining options include an all-day restaurant serving Korean, Japanese, Chinese and western food, while the Gourmet Bar serves French-inspired cocktails and beverages. The Social 21 rooftop bar offers views of the city skyline.
There is also an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and Kids Zone for travellers with children.
Business travellers are allowed access to a number of club benefits, including breakfast, afternoon tea and a daily happy hour in the Executive Lounge.
For events, the hotel features the Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 280 delegates, while a smaller meeting room can host up to 20.
