Marriott International has announced it will introduce a single set of unified benefits across its Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) memberships in August.
The hospitality giant says the move will create a “rich” loyalty programme in which customers can earn points at any of the 29 participating global brands at 6,500 hotels in 127 countries.
In addition, the Moments experiential platform is expanding to more than 110,000 experiences in 1,000 destinations, from attraction and tour tickets for purchase with cash to events only available to members using points, including the new Moments Live event series.
Beginning in August, members will be able to combine their separate Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG accounts into a single profile that spans the entire loyalty portfolio. Each programme will continue operating with their current names under the new set of unified benefits, but a new programme name is set to be introduced in 2019.
Also beginning in August, guests will be able to book stays across the entire portfolio via Marriott.com, SPG.com and the Marriott and SPG apps.
Marriott says existing loyalty members will be informed in the coming months how and when they will be able to combine their accounts.
