Hyatt Hotels has suspended the expiry of World of Hyatt reward points until 30 June 2021. Points generally expire when a member's account is inactive for 24 months.
In addition, the company has extended the expiration date to 31 December 2021, for all awards with an expiration from 1 March to 31 December 2020, including unused Free Night, Suite Upgrade and Club Lounge Access awards. Free Night awards earned in 2020 with a 2021 expiration date will be extended to 31 December 2021. Suite Upgrade and Club Lounge Access awards with a 28 February 2021 expiration date will be extended to 31 December 2021.
Hyatt also is suspending its 2021 World of Hyatt hotel category award chart changes, meaning that most hotels will remain in their current categories in 2021, and the number of points required for redemption in 2020 will stay the same in 2021, with a few exceptions, including 12 hotels shifting to a lower award category with effect from 29 October 2020, and four hotels shifting to a higher award category with effect from mid-March 2021.
As previously reported, Hyatt is postponing the introduction of off-peak and peak point redemption until July 2021.
