Hyatt Hotels president and CEO Mark Hoplamazian will now also chair the company’s board of directors
Hyatt Hotels president and CEO Mark Hoplamazian will now also chair the company’s board of directors, effective immediately, after the resignation of executive board chairman Thomas Pritzker.
Pritzker, who has served in his current capacity since 2004 and will retire, is stepping down as new documents released by the US Department of Justice revealed his association with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Pritzker in a statement Monday (16 February) said he exercised "terrible judgment" and that it was his responsibility to provide "good stewardship" and protect the Hyatt brand by transitioning to a new chair.
Hoplamazian in a statement released Monday said that "we remain focused on executing our strategy for long-term growth, advancing care for our colleagues, delivering meaningful experiences for our guests, and driving performance for owners and value for our stockholders."
