Hilton signs four more UK properties

By Molly Dyson / 28 January 2019 / Contact Reporter
Business Travel News on X

Hilton has signed an agreement to extend its partnership with real estate and private equity company Dominvs Group to four new hotels in London and Bath.

The news follows confirmation that the first property under Hilton’s new ‘urban lifestyle’ brand Motto by Hilton is under construction with Dominvs Group in London’s Marylebone.

In addition, the latest agreement includes St Paul’s Creed Court Hotel, which will be part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, as well as Hampton by Hilton London City and Hampton by Hilton Bath.

All four hotels represent an additional 500 rooms for the UK market.

St Paul’s Creed Court Hotel London, Curio Collection by Hilton (pictured) will be situated on Ludgate Hill opposite St Paul’s Cathedral and will feature 145 guest rooms. Construction has already begun, with the property’s Grade II-listed facade undergoing extensive refurbishment. When it opens in 2022, the hotel will feature a ground-floor restaurant and bar, as well as a barista cafe.

Hampton by Hilton London City is due to open in 2021 and will be situated in Aldgate close to Whitechapel Station, which will serve the Elizabeth Line upon completion of the Crossrail project. It will be converted from an existing hotel following refurbishment and will include 120 rooms.

Lastly, Hampton by Hilton Bath, due to open in 2022, is a new-build hotel and will feature 206 rooms. It will be built on a site on James Street close to the city’s major attractions including the Roman Baths, Pulteney Bridge, Theatre Royal and the Jane Austin Centre.

The new signings add to Hilton’s current portfolio of 145 UK hotels operated under seven brands. The company plans to open more than 35 properties in locations such as Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and London.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development for EMEA at Hilton said: “Hilton’s brands are growing rapidly in the UK, with more than 180 hotels trading or under development. We’re seeing growing consumer demand at every price point and these hotels will add exceptional new rooms in prestigious urban locations. Dominvs Group is a key partner, and has the vision and expertise to bring these projects to fruition. We look forward to welcoming guests to the new hotels.”

Sukhpal Ahluwalia, founder and chairman of Dominvs Group, added: “As we continue to grow our presence in prime UK destinations, we’re pleased to extend our partnership with Hilton. In addition to the world’s first Motto by Hilton hotel, our planned properties in London and Bath under Curio Collection by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton will be important additions to our portfolio.”
