Budget hotel chain Yotel has appointed hospitality industry veteran Paul Harnedy as chief operating officer, the company announced on Tuesday (2 June).
Harnedy joins from Cedar Capital Partners, where he served as EVP and head of asset management. He also held prior roles at Amaris Hospitality, Interstate Hotels & Resorts and IHG Hotels & Resorts.
He will help lead UK-based Yotel’s global expansion effort to triple its portfolio to 100 hotels by 2031, according to the company.
Harnedy’s appointment follows the arrival of former Marriott executive Phil Andreopoulos, who assumed the role of CEO at Yotel in late 2025.
The company this week also announced promotions for Ryan Dance to SVP of commercial strategy and Michael Whitehead to SVP of people, talent and learning.
Yotel plans to grow its portfolio in Europe, North America and Asia, bolstered by its exclusive agreement with Hilton Worldwide, according to the company.
