SINGAPORE has been ranked as the world's top international meetings city by the Union of International Associations. In UIA's 2007 global rankings, it beat perennial favourites Paris (2) and Vienna (3) as a leading business destination.
Last year, the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) sector accounted for close to three million of total visitor arrivals to Singapore and contributed over S$5 billion towards its tourism receipts.
Also in the top 10 international meeting cities were Brussels (4), Geneva (5), Barcelona (6), New York (7), Tokyo (8), Seoul (9) and Amsterdam (10). London failed to make the rankings.
