QATAR AIRWAYS IS TO LAUNCH a three-times weekly service to Chongqing later this year, its fifth destination in China.
The new route will commence on November 28 using a two class A330, with flights departing Doha on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1.15am, arriving at 1.05pm.
From Chongqing, flights will leave on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1am, landing back in Doha at 5am.
Qatar Airways currently operates flights to the Chinese cities of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing.
Finnair recently announced the first direct flights from Europe to Chongqing, scheduled to start in May next year. The municipality of Chongqing is located inland to the east of Sichuan province, and has a population of around 30 million people.
