AIR NOSTRUM, IBERIA'S regional franchise partner, is to launch daily flights between Manchester and Madrid. Due to start on October 31, the new route will be in direct competition with Ryanair.
Air Nostrum recently announced a new twice weekly route between Glasgow and Madrid and will now also operate a service on the Manchester route.
Flights are now available for purchase online at iberia.com, with the Manchester-bound leg departing Madrid at 3.45pm and arriving at 5.05pm, and the return leg leaving Manchester at 5.35pm and landing back in Spain at 8.55pm.
Ryanair currently offers a four times weekly service between the two cities, departing Madrid at 4.35pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving into Manchester at 6.25pm, with the return leg leaving at 6.50pm, arriving at 10.40pm.
Air Nostrum, also known as Iberia Regional, is an independent airline operating as a franchisee of the national carrier. Its fleet comprises mainly Bombardier CRJ aircraft.
