Senior management at ATP The Advanced Travel Partner have bought out the company's Dutch owners Archand Capital Investments.
The deal was backed by Lloyds Development Capital (LDC), the investment arm of Lloyds TSB, which is said to have put up £24m towards the buy out.
The buy out was led by Graham Ramsey, the ceo of the travel management company.
Mr Ramsey will serve on a new board which will include John Jansen, Ian Sinderson and Willem Starink as well as two representatives from LDC.
John Donaldson, formally ceo of Thomas Cook Holdings, will serve as non-executive chairman.
ATP is among the top ten TMCs in the UK with a turnover in 2005 of £136m. It also has offices in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Norway and the USA.
Rust predicts good 2007 for UK hoteliers
A successful 2007 with good revPAR growth is predicted for UK has been predicted by Marvin Rust, global managing partner for Hospitality at Deloitte.
Mr Rust said that 2006 had been a great year and he was "confident" the "strong performance" would continue in 2007, especially for hoteliers at the top end of the market.
He said the picture was different out London but he still expected "further positive growth" in 2007.
United 'looking for consolidation'
United Airlines is actively looking for options to consolidate with other carriers, its chairman and ceo Glenn Tilton is reported to have said.
Mr Tilton is quoted on the US ATW website as saying at a United Investors Day conference that the carrier was “focused” on consolidation.
"We are not waiting for opportunities to come to us," he said. "We're very mindful of everything that's happening (a reference to the proposed take over of Delta by US Airways) and we're paying attention."
He added the carrier is conducting a "rigorous" analysis of "options available."
His comments come amid reports in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal that United is in merger talks with Continental Airlines.
