HILTON HOTELS is to add 150 properties to its Latin America and Caribbean portfolio over the next five years.
The group currently operates 51 hotels in the region, and has another 42 in the pipeline. Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima, Caracas and Bogota are also on the Hilton hitlist.
Most of the proposed ventures in Central America will be resorts, but the company also wants to open "focusedservice" hotels in Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua. In the Caribbean, the group has earmarked commercial centres in Trinidad and the Bahamas for its Garden Inn and Hampton Inn brands.
