Sabre has bolstered its traveller security offering after signing a deal with a Canadian-based risk management technology firm.
E-Travel Technologies will provide Sabre with global security-related data that it will integrate into its own product for corporates and travel management companies, Sabre Traveller Security.
The companies said the agreement would give Sabre customers access to real-time security information linked to traveller itineraries. The security platform is part of the company’s technology suite, Sabre Red.
In a news release, the companies said the new kit would provide the following benefits:
- Email alerts and daily risk briefings on worldwide events such as acts of terrorism, civil unrest and transportation or weather disruptions.
- Ability to directly research the risk of specific destinations
- Reports highlighting travellers with itineraries that include countries with elevated risk levels
- World risk map and scrolling list of current alerts
Martin Cowley, Sabre’s senior vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “Travel agents need access to accurate, real-time information on issues that may disrupt a customer’s trip or create a security risk for travellers.
“By monitoring events around the globe and sending alerts directly to agents, Sabre’s Traveller Security allows agents to provide advice to customers travelling in areas of high risk or where an event has disrupted travel in a region.”
Sabre said that following the deal it had named e-Travel Technologies as one of its authorised developers.
